Vote

Written by Pastor Kevin Meadows

There has not been a push for voting as it is today, except for when we receive the right to vote as African-Americans, if you have been paying close attention there's a big issue on who to vote for should I vote Democrat or Republican but this is not the right way to vote for a Christian. We should look closely at the issues that are on our ballot law enforcement, abortion, and civil rights, and others are some of the main things. As Americans we have to pay close attention to what we are voteing for, because no party has ever answered all of our questions as minority, but they all want our vote. Voting is a process to appoint a leader who represent all people of America. Choosing the right leader is very important as it tells us in the Bible “You are about to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you. When you take it over and settle there, you may think, ‘We should select a king to rule over us like the other nations around us.’ If this happens, be sure to select as king the man the Lord your God chooses. You must appoint a fellow Israelite; he may not be a foreigner.

Deuteronomy 17:14‭-‬15 NLT.

My goal is to pray about this process and Direction for someone who's going to lead us by truth according to the God's word. We can go wrong in this process as the Bible say in Jesus time. Now it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner to the crowd—anyone they wanted. This year there was a notorious prisoner, a man named Barabbas. As the crowds gathered before Pilate’s house that morning, he asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you—Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” (He knew very well that the religious leaders had arrested Jesus out of envy.) Just then, as Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible nightmare about him last night.” Meanwhile, the leading priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas to be released and for Jesus to be put to death. So the governor asked again, “Which of these two do you want me to release to you?” The crowd shouted back, “Barabbas!” Pilate responded, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” They shouted back, “Crucify him!” “Why?” Pilate demanded. “What crime has he committed?” But the mob roared even louder, “Crucify him!” Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!” And all the people yelled back, “We will take responsibility for his death—we and our children!”

Matthew 27:15‭-‬25 NLT

We can vote for the wrong person because of politics, but we have the responsibility to research each candidate because they will lead us for the next four years will it be blessings or more suffering, next 4 years. So take your time do your research don't go on the Merritt of color, race, or gender but go by how the Holy spirit is leading you as a Christian not your Pastor or friends, sexual preference, race, cuz we truly need change.
